RCU believes good saving habits begin at a young age. That's why we started RCU School $ense. We opened our first elementary site in 1993 and since then we continue to add new schools every year.

Elementary School Site Programs
Every school year, we hire 4th and 5th graders to work at our school site branches. Those interested complete an application and go through an interview. Once they are hired, they complete a training program to learn the computer system, confidentiality, Member service, marketing, and much more!

The school site is open once a week (some in the mornings, others over the lunch hour) so students and faculty can make deposits into their RCU account. For every fourth deposit they make, they receive a prize that ranges from key chains to erasers to pencil sharpeners. For every 500 deposits made at our school site, the school receives $250 from RCU. It's a great fundraiser for the school, and the students become great savers. During the 2007 school year, students and faculty at all the school sites combined saved over $130,000!

Middle SchoolMiddle School Site Programs
The middle school site is staffed by 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students using the same hiring and training process as the elementary schools. The student employees perform deposit and withdrawal transactions for students and faculty alike and are actively involved in the design and creation of in-school marketing materials. Rewards are given to the students for accumulated deposits, and the school receives donations based on the number of deposits made. By partnering with the middle school, RCU encourages and reinforces the basic principles of saving money.

High School
Site Programs
Employees are hired from the Business Youth Apprenticeship and Financial Youth Apprenticeship programs. This is the perfect job for students involved in other school activities.

Open for both students and faculty, the high school sites offer most of the same services as any other office. High school site employees also work as tellers at our other offices.

Boys and Girls Club
The Boys and Girls Club RCU provides a unique opportunity for young people of a variety of ages to take part in a learning experience that will teach them the importance of saving money. Student employees are selected and interviewed based on their completed information form. The site is open every Tuesday from 3:30 - 4:30 for Club members and staff to make deposits and withdrawls.
