Become a Board Member for Royal Credit Union!
Nominations are now being accepted for two positions on Royal Credit Union’s Board of Directors for the 2020 election.
As a Member of Royal Credit Union, you have a voice in the progress and development of your local, hometown financial institution. Your Royal Membership also gives you the opportunity to become a candidate and, if elected, serve a three-year term as a director.
To submit your application as a potential candidate for Royal’s Board of Directors, you must:
- Be a Primary Member (first named owner of a Royal account) in the credit union for a minimum of one year prior to the next annual meeting (on or before April 28, 2019)
- Be at least 18 years old and a Member in good standing
- Have attended an informational meeting with the Nominating Committee of the credit union
- Have read the Royal Credit Union Board of Directors Handbook
- Have completed the following CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program modules:
- History and Philosophy for Volunteers
- Board of Directors Duties and Responsibilities
If you are interested in becoming a candidate and having your name placed on the ballot, please contact any member of the Nominating Committee in writing on or before October 31, 2019. Potential candidates will be evaluated further by the Nominating Committee and placed in nomination at the discretion of the Nominating Committee. After October 31, 2019, to become a candidate, you need to obtain a petition signed by at least 500 eligible voting RCU Members (they must have been Members on or before August 2, 2019). Petitions may be obtained at any RCU office after December 1, 2019, and must be returned to the Chairperson of the Nominating Committee by December 31, 2019.
Nominations by petition are subject for review by the Nominating Committee and left to their discretion.
