Royal Credit Union Shred Events

Do you have old documents you no longer need? Royal Credit Union will be hosting shred events at several Royal offices. Shred Days are an opportunity for Members and the general public to properly dispose of their personal documents and files for free. Royal partners with document management and destruction companies to safely dispose of documents. Each year, in the spring and fall, Royal offers both drive-up and drop-off events. Drive-up events are held in the parking lots of our offices; attendees will drive through the line and Royal team members will unload their items for them. At drop-off events, attendees can bring their shred into the office during regular lobby hours and place their shred into secured bins. If attendees need assistance carrying in shred items for the drop-off events, please ask a Royal team member at the office. 

How to prepare

A limit of two brown paper grocery bags or one file-sized box per person will be enforced at all events to ensure everyone has a chance to shred their most critical documents.  It is recommended to limit the documents you bring to those that contain confidential information such as social security numbers, financial account numbers, or other secure information.  Acceptable items to shred include personal medical and financial records, bills, receipts, bound paper, file folders, CDs, I.D. cards, and plastic credit cards. The document shredder can handle most materials. You do not need to remove staples or paperclips from your documents before shredding.

By bringing your confidential items to a Royal Credit Union Shred Day event, you gain peace of mind knowing that your documents are securely destroyed.
