Frequently Asked Questions

What savings accounts does Royal Credit Union offer?
Royal Credit Union offers a high-yield savings account, personal savings, kids' savings, health savings accounts, and a Lock & Earn account. Certificates and retirement accounts are also available for money you can set aside for a fixed term. Current rates for every savings account are published on Royal's rates page and subject to change at any time.

What is the difference between a savings account and a certificate?
A savings account at Royal Credit Union lets you deposit and withdraw money at any time while earning dividends on the balance. A certificate holds a fixed amount for a fixed term, usually pays a higher rate in exchange for leaving the money untouched, and may charge a penalty for early withdrawal. Certificates are a great choice for money you know you will not need for a set period, whereas savings accounts are better for money you may need at short notice.
