Opening a personal deposit account with Royal typically takes only a few minutes if you’re already a Member and have the required information ready. The total time can vary based on the type of account, how you apply, and whether additional identity or Member eligibility verification is needed.
To open a personal deposit account, you’ll generally need a valid photo ID, Social Security number, date of birth, current address, phone number, email address, and an opening deposit of at least $5. If you’re not already a Member, Royal may also request proof of address or a second form of identification.
You may be eligible to join Royal Credit Union if you live or work in a county Royal serves in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You may also qualify through an immediate family member, an eligible employer or group, or—if you live in Wisconsin or Minnesota—by making a $5 donation to the RCU Foundation.
