EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Royal Credit Union (Royal) celebrated eleven University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire (UWEC) students on December 5, for their successful completion of Grow. Impact. Lead., a new signature program powered by Royal.
The Grow. Impact. Lead. program allows participants of all backgrounds to become involved in their community through volunteering at non-profit organizations, participating in panel discussions that allow networking with local professionals, and receiving financial education over the course of seven sessions. Grow. Impact. Lead. has been approved by UWEC to fulfill the participants’ Service-Learning requirement needed to graduate.
“We appreciate the outreach from Royal and the opportunity our students in the Leadership Living Learning Community were given to not only fulfill this portion of their Service-Learning requirement, but to also connect with community partners in such a meaningful way” Linda Pratt, Assistant Director for Leadership and Education at UW-Eau Claire says, “We look forward to continuing this exciting program with Royal!”
At the graduation celebration, students were joined by Brandon Riechers, President and CEO, Royal Credit Union; James Schmidt, Chancellor of UW-Eau Claire; and Ann Kaiser, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley. Students had the unique opportunity to engage with local CEO’s and ask questions openly during a panel discussion.
“Our core purpose at Royal is to create a positive impact in the lives we touch,” says Melissa Janssen, Program Director of Community Relations, “it is our hope that these young adults will walk away from Grow. Impact. Lead. with a better understanding of their community, personal connections with local business leaders, and a tool belt of financial skills they can apply in their day-to-day lives.”
