Royal Credit Union celebrated National Credit Union Youth Month’s Jurassic theme in April by reminding its young Members that “Saving with Royal Credit Union is Dinoriffic”. The annual celebration to inspire children to save, earn, and spend wisely was celebrated through a Kid’s Club promotion, School $ense celebration, and a social media contest.
Kid’s Club Promotion
During the month of April, we encouraged families to talk about finances with the children in their lives and open savings accounts for them to teach them about saving money. Royal even deposited the first $5 for the new accounts opened in April. We are so happy to welcome many new Kid’s Club Members and to help them learn about saving and spending wisely. All year around children 12 years old and younger are automatically enrolled in Royal’s Kids Club which makes them eligible for prizes and invitations to exclusive Kids Club events.
School $ense Celebration
During the month of April, 18 elementary schools participated in an activity sheet contest, this totals to over 300 participating classrooms. The winning class from each school received a prize bag that included the book “You Can’t Buy a Dinosaur with a Dime”, bookmarks, and pencils among other fun things for the classroom.
Social Media Contest
Every Tuesday and Thursday throughout April, a dinosaur riddle was posted on Royal’s Facebook page for our followers to solve. A winner was picked for each riddle and a dinoriffic prize basket, including a dinosaur tail, were awarded!
Getting into good financial habits at a young age is extremely important and the purpose of Kid’s Club is to encourage our youngest Members to start saving. We look forward to seeing our Kid’s Club Members in the community this summer, to find out more about the program go to www.rcu.org/KidsClub.
