Royal Credit Union has recently added Virtual Takeover Day to our list of signature financial education programs! This new version of our award-winning Takeover Day, featuring the Superheroes of Saving program can be completed by any elementary school in just one day. With the global pandemic, Royal’s financial educators soon realized we could no longer put on our capes and visit classrooms in-person. We couldn’t imagine missing out on an opportunity to have fun while learning about money and quickly got to work creating interactive, virtual classroom presentations. Virtual Takeover Day is made up of a series of teacher assisted videos for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Each video features a unique superhero, engaging activities and standards based curriculum. Not all of the learning is virtual; Royal team members deliver special activity sheets and all needed lesson materials to the schools, including a take-home prize fit for a superhero.
Locust Lane Elementary School in Eau Claire, WI has recently completed our first Virtual Takeover Day event with their 300 students! The teachers loved the lessons and students enjoyed learning in an exciting new way!
