Jay began his Royal career at the Eau Claire South branch, where his background in customer service helped him quickly gain confidence in the financial world. As he progressed through MAR II and MAR III roles, he became a trusted resource for both Members and teammates. His leadership journey continued at the Eau Claire Downtown branch, where he served as Branch Team Lead and developed skills in team support and daily operations. That experience prepared him well for his current role as Branch Manager in Menomonie.

Today, Jay describes his role as wearing many hats. From overseeing operations and managing schedules to supporting both his team and Members, his guiding question is always, “How can I help?” What he finds most rewarding is watching his team grow into their potential and seeing Members succeed as a result of the team’s work.

Some of Jay’s most meaningful experiences come from his time on the front-line building relationships with Members. One story that stands out involves a Member who came to him for help managing her finances. Jay worked with her to consolidate loans and build credit, creating a plan that restored her confidence. Over time, that relationship grew to include her adult children, turning a single interaction into a trusted, multi generational partnership. For Jay, moments like these exemplify what sets Royal apart and how its core values come to life every day.

Jay continues to grow as a leader by embracing lifelong learning. He collaborates with teammates, participates in regional meetings, and seeks guidance from mentors. He believes leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about asking the right questions and creating an environment where people feel supported and empowered.

His advice for aspiring leaders:

“Identify what matters most in a culture and make it your own. Culture does not happen by accident. It is built through intentional actions. Show up for your team, make interactions meaningful, and take ownership of the environment you help create.” Thank you, Jay, for your leadership and dedication to Members and team members.
