How To Apply For A No-Fee Balance Transfer

The Royal Platinum Rewards Visa® credit card offers no-fee balance transfers at any time. Any balances you transfer to this card are charged the same low interest rate as any other balance. Once you apply for and open your credit card, you can initiate a balance transfer through online banking. Choose the Additional Services menu, then select Balance Transfer from the Other Services menu. Fill in the required fields about the card you’re transferring a balance from and we’ll take care of the rest. You’ll see when the balance is transferred to your card in online banking or our mobile app. You can also contact us to have us help with a balance transfer.

How Do I Make A Credit Card Payment?

To make a credit card payment from a Royal Credit Union account:

  • Using online banking on your computer:
    1. Log in to online banking, then select Move Money from the blue banner and choose the Pay Credit Card From Royal Account option under Payments.
    2. Select which Royal account to take the payment funds from. Select your Royal credit card as the To account. Choose a single date or schedule repeating transfers, and enter the amount. Then choose Make Transfer.
  • Using the mobile app:
    1. Log in to the mobile app, then select Make A Transfer from the bottom menu.
    2. To make a one-time payment immediately, select which Royal account to take the payment funds from. Select your Royal credit card as the To account. Enter an amount, then choose Make Transfer.
    3. To schedule one-time or repeating payments, choose the Schedule option from the top of the Make A Transfer screen. Tap the blue Schedule A Transfer button. Then select which Royal account to take the payment funds from, select your Royal credit card as the To account, enter an amount, and choose a frequency and date. Then choose Schedule.

To make a credit card payment from a non-Royal account:

  • Using online banking on your computer:
    1. Log in to online banking, then select Move Money from the blue banner and choose the Pay Credit Card From Non-Royal Account option to go to the credit card portal.
    2. Select Bill Payment from the top menu and choose Enroll Accounts to set up a new account. Enter the routing number for your other financial institution, choose Submit, and then enter the account number for your account at your other financial institution and choose Submit again.
    3. Select Bill Payment from the top menu and choose Make a Payment. Choose a frequency (one time on a specified date or recurring monthly on your due date) from the drop-down menu and select a payment amount. Choose Continue, and then agree to the terms and choose I Agree.
    4. If you set up recurring payments, you can change your payment arrangement using the Modify/Delete Payment screen and selecting the card icon under the Details column.
  • Using the mobile app:
    1. Log in to the mobile app, then choose More from the bottom menu and select Credit Card Access.
    2. You’ll be taken to a small-screen version of the credit card portal. This portal is the same as the computer-sized version, so the same instructions from above apply.
    3. Start at Step 2 above to enroll your account from another financial institution and continue to Step 3 to make your payment.

Why Don’t I See The Credit Card Payment I Just Made?

It does take 24-48 hours for a payment to be applied to your credit card. The most up-to-date information about your credit card balance can be found in online banking on the Credit Cards tab or in the mobile app using the Credit Card Access option on the More menu.

How Do I Redeem uChoose Rewards®?

From online banking, choose the Credit Cards menu optionSelect the uChoose Rewards® option to go to the uChoose Rewards® site where you can see and redeem your rewards points. You can also redeem uChoose Rewards® by calling 855-224-5855. uChoose Rewards® are not accessible via the mobile app.

How Do I Dispute A Credit Card Charge?

If you have a dispute about a charge on your Royal credit card, you can call 800-853-0872 or you can file your dispute from online banking. To file a dispute in online banking, choose the Credit Cards tab to go to the credit cards online account access site. Under Transactions, choose the transaction you would like to dispute and select Dispute This Charge. Answer the questions and choose Submit & Save.
