Mobile App Troubleshooting

Our free mobile app makes banking fast and easy. You can transfer funds, deposit checks, and view your transactions, all in the palm of your hand. When something’s not working right, we know it can be frustrating. We’ve put together a few troubleshooting tips if you’re having problems with our mobile app. Keep in mind that this information is for the mobile app, not online banking in your mobile device’s browser.

App Troubleshooting Tips

We’ve found that the most common cause of app troubles is running an outdated version of the app. Be sure to update to the most recent version of our app to take advantage of new features and the latest bug fixes. To make sure you’re on the latest version, use your device’s app store to check for updates.

Another potential cause of app problems is bad cached data. Apps retain data from previous sessions in an area of memory called a cache. If this cache gets corrupted, it could be affecting your attempts to log in or use certain app features. It could also mean your device doesn’t remember your login information. The solution to these issues is to clear the cached data by following the steps outlined below. This will restore the app to the default state and should resolve any issues.

To clear cached data on an Apple® device:

  1. Delete the app: tap and hold the app icon until a menu pops up, then choose Delete App.
  2. Power your device off and back on again.
  3. Reinstall the app: download the Royal Credit Union mobile app again from the App Store.

To clear cached data on an Android™ device:

  1. Close the Royal app.
  2. Open the Settings app.
  3. Tap Apps.
  4. Tap the Royal app.
  5. Tap Clear Data.
  6. Restart the app.
