Need Help Setting Up Online & Mobile Banking?
Once the merger is complete, Royal will be holding walk-in help days at our Medford office (located in the Peoples Choice Medford office) to offer Members hands-on help with online and mobile banking! Stop by during the times below (you can even bring your smartphone, tablet, or laptop if you would like) and we’ll help get you started.
- Friday, September 10 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 14 - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Monday, September 20 - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 29 - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What if I have a question about the Peoples Choice merger? Many merger details will be shared in our Welcome Booklet, which will be mailed to all Peoples Choice Members in late July. An electronic version of the Welcome Booklet is also available. If you have additional questions, Royal is ready to help answer them. Can Peoples Choice Credit Union Members join Royal Credit Union before the merger is complete? PCCU Members are welcome to join Royal by opening an account before the merger is finalized. To open an account, simply find the account you wish to open on rcu.org and use the Open or Apply options to get started. All PCCU Members will become Royal Members when the merger is complete, so opening an account before the merger is finalized is completely optional.
During the Peoples Choice Credit Union merger, will account numbers and check card numbers stay the same? As part of the Peoples Choice Credit Union merger, PCCU Members will receive new Royal Credit Union account numbers, checks, check cards, and other account items. All loans will also have new Royal account numbers.
What happens if I am a Member of both PCCU and Royal already? If you are a Member of both Peoples Choice Credit Union and Royal Credit Union during the PCCU merger, your PCCU accounts will simply be added to Royal's system.
Will Royal be keeping both the Medford and Gilman Peoples Choice offices open? Royal is committed to providing all our Members with our outstanding value proposition of high deposit rates, low loan rates, and minimal fees. In order to keep that commitment, it sometimes requires us to make difficult business decisions. In the case of this merger, we have determined that the Peoples Choice office in Gilman will be permanently closed at the time the merger is completed. Royal will continue to provide full access to Gilman area accounts through the use of our online, mobile, and phone banking tools. Our network of shared ATMs and shared branches also means that you’re never far from your funds. Royal will continue to serve all of our Members in the area by offering in-person services at the Peoples Choice Medford office location, which will become a new full-service Royal Credit Union office when the merger is complete.
During the Peoples Choice Credit Union merger, when will Royal's rates apply to PCCU Members' accounts? Generally, we expect that deposit accounts, excluding certificates, will begin earning interest at Royal’s rates as soon as the PCCU Member becomes a Royal Member. Certificates will continue to earn interest at their original rate until they mature, and then earn interest at Royal’s rates if renewed. Loan interest rates will remain as defined in the original loan agreements unless the loan is refinanced with Royal. Credit cards are not part of the Peoples Choice merger and are not affected.
Will all PCCU Members become Royal Credit Union Members? During the Peoples Choice Credit Union merger, all PCCU Members will become Royal Members when the merger is complete.
When the merger is complete, what will Royal Credit Union’s office hours be? Royal's Medford office will open in the same building where the Peoples Choice Medford office was located, and the office hours will be the same as the Peoples Choice office hours. Lobby hours will be 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment Saturdays. Drive-up hours will be 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Fridays, and 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturdays.
